what is together we lift?

Together We Lift is a community-led mental health initiative built within the strength and fitness space.

We bring people together through inclusive, coach-led strength events that support local mental health charities, while creating environments where conversations around mental health feel natural, supported, and accessible.

This is not about one person. It is about building something that lasts, grows, and continues to support communities long into the future.

Why Together We Lift Exists

Mental health is often spoken about in fitness. But too often, it stops at awareness without action.

Across strength sports, there has never been a clear, visible symbol for mental health in the same way other sports have embraced it. That presence has been missing. Together We Lift exists to change that.

We are building something that is visible, local, and consistent. Something that shows up in gyms, events, and communities, not just online.

Where It Started

Together We Lift was built from lived experience, but it was never intended to be about one person.

Strength training provided a way to create real, measurable progress. A way to prove forward movement, not just believe it. That same idea shaped Together We Lift. Creating something real, tangible, and community-driven.

Traditional fitness events often come with pressure, comparison, and performance focus.

Together We Lift was designed differently.

Our events remove that pressure by:

  • grouping people by ability

  • running multiple event stations at once

  • creating an environment focused on support, not judgement

It is not about being the strongest person in the room.
It is about feeling comfortable enough to show up.

How Together We Lift Works

Together We Lift delivers impact through a range of community-led strength events and partnerships, all designed to support mental health awareness, fundraising, and long-term local impact.

This includes:

  • our coach-led Together We Lift events hosted in independent gyms

  • community-led events in aid of Together We Lift

  • our presence at fitness exhibitions and industry events across the UK

Each plays a role in helping us reach new communities, support local mental health services, and grow the movement nationwide.

Our Vision

We are building towards a future where:

  • Together We Lift becomes a recognised symbol for mental health in strength sports

  • Independent gyms act as long-term community hubs for support and connection

  • Coaches and personal trainers are equipped with Mental Health First Aid training

  • Localised mental health ecosystems exist across the UK, connecting fitness communities with support services

Long term, the ambition is to see mental health education become a standard part of coaching and personal training pathways.
