What You’ll Do on the Day
You’ll be placed into ability-based groups and coached through four core lifting stations:

event day structure
9AM - aRrIVALS
We ask that all athletes arrive between 9am and 930am, so that they have enough time to collect their event day t shirt, wrist band, and to settle into the gym before we start the event.
945am - Rules Meeting
Rules Meeting is possibly a bit of a stretch. In truth this is more of an information dump ahead of the day, however it is a very important section of the day as we are basically going to mention what to expect from the day, who your first aiders are, who your mental health first aiders are, and we will also introduce you to a representative from HelpU
10am - 2pm. Together We Lift
Between the hours of 10am, and 2pm all athletes will be split into equal ability groups.
Each group will take part in all four event stations across the 4 hours in 40 minute splits, and you will get 10-15 minutes between each station to recover. At around midday their will be an extended break where would like our athletes and coaches to take a moment to re-fuel and listen to our guest speaker.
2pm - Until we are done.
At approximately 2pm, we will hear from HelpU about what their services deliver, and how you can look to help form local mental health eco-systems in Wales.
We then head over to our legendary Tandem Deadlift Bar, where we aim to top our Welsh Axle Tandem Deadlift Record of 547kg that was set last year at our event in Swansea.
This section of the day is to be run in a rising bar format and pairs can opt in and out of any weight selection. There is no limit on how many lifts you do on the Together We Lift Tandem Barbell but we just ask that you are attempting to hit records, then space your lifts out sensibly.

Who are we raising money for?
All Together We Lift events are in aid of localised mental health services.
This is central to our mission. We believe real impact happens at a community level, so every event is designed to support organisations who are helping build sustainable mental health ecosystems that continue long after the event has finished.
For this event, we are proud to be supporting HELPU CYMRU.
HELPU CYMRU is a not-for-profit organisation and the men’s mental health hub for Wales, working towards zero suicides for men in Wales and empowering men’s mental health across the country.
Their work focuses on helping men access connection, support and practical resources, including:
mental health resources and advice, stories from men across Wales that help reduce stigma, signposting to support groups, organisations and services, community links and peer support opportunities, suicide prevention awareness and education
Their work ensures that men across Wales can feel more connected, less alone, and better able to access support when and where they need it most.
Every pound raised helps HELPU CYMRU continue their mission to improve men’s mental health, build stronger community connections, and work towards a Wales where fewer men face their struggles alone.
Together We Lift does not take a penny from the fundraising of this event.
Event ticket sales are used to cover the cost of running the event, and all profits from the event, along with any additional donations, go directly to HELPU CYMRU.
The total amount raised will be confirmed and shared publicly once all event costs are finalised and fundraising pages have closed.
